Wakefield District's Young Lives Consortium

Young Lives is an infrastructure support organisation dedicated to supporting voluntary and community sector (VCS) organisations in the Wakefield District. It works with charities, community groups, statutory groups, uniform groups, faith groups, youth associations and youth clubs to ensure that organisations working with children and young people in the Wakefield Metropolitan District are fully supported.

It does this in a number of ways:

  • representation - promoting and coordinating involvement of VCS groups at a strategic level
  • partnership working - creating strong partnerships of VCS groups in the Wakefield District
  • communication - promoting information sharing, communication and participation in the VCS
  • training and events - running training sessions and events to help VCS groups
  • cooperation - to encourage collaboration and cooperation across the sector.
