Help to recruit and manage volunteers

Voluntary Action Wakefield District (VAWD) works with a wide range of voluntary organisations, community groups and other not-for-profit organisations. Its aim is to help recruit and retain volunteers for these organisations. One of the best ways of doing this is to consider how to best work with volunteers. It has been proven by ensuring that volunteering good practice is in place, your chances of keeping your volunteers and helping them to make a positive contribution to your group are enhanced.

VAWD helps voluntary and community groups to find volunteers by promoting their volunteering opportunities. We do this in a variety of ways. This includes promoting volunteering and volunteering opportunities at public events, meetings and in the wider community. We advertise volunteering opportunities via the www.do-it.org.uk website, which is the national database of UK volunteering opportunities.
