Services for groups
Voluntary Action Wakefield District (VAWD) provides a number of services and resources to support your work. These services are free or have a small charge.
City centre meeting room
We have a city centre meeting room for hire that can provide your group with a comfortable and friendly environment in which to hold meetings, interviews, training or workshops. It has wireless internet connection, is on the ground floor and is accessible for disabled visitors. There is wheelchair access to a unisex toilet.
Our meeting room can seat up to 10 people committee style with flip chart, whiteboard and digital projector available. If your group is looking to have your management committee meeting, a staff meeting or one-to-one sessions, our room is ideal. There are free refreshments to compliment your event.
The cost is:
- VAWD members £10 per hour
- Non VAWD members £15 per hour

Become a member
The cost of our services is cheaper for our members. Membership is free for voluntary and community groups. Benefits include:
- reduced costs for room hire, photocopying and laminating
- reduced costs for mail-out services
- free advertisements in our e-bulletin
- a nomination for a member of your group to stand for election to our Board
- a vote at our Annual General Meeting.

Need a postal address for your group?
If you do not have a registered address, you can arrange for your mail to be sent to us and we will then forward this onto a personal address of your choice. This service is ideal for new groups, established groups who do not have their own premises and for groups that do not want their location made public. This mail forwarding service costs £25 per month for VAWD members and £50 per month for non members. Photocopying, scanning and laminating
We can provide black and white or colour photocopying, laminating and scanning facilities for a small charge.
