This section of the website provides information about our work and how we work with local voluntary and community groups. The aim is to support groups to deliver their vital work in the community in the best possible way. You can read case studies demonstrating the impact of our work here.

This section also provides information about the voluntary and community sector, and provides links to statistical data about the sector in Wakefield District.

"I would like to thank Voluntary Action Wakefield District (VAWD) and Peter Foyle (Healthier Communities Fund Co-ordinator) for all their advice, guidance, and support during the past three years. They believed in our project, and ability to make a difference and change the lives of people living in deprived communities. Without VAWD’s support organisations such as ours would seize to exist."

Adam Redfern, SESKU Academy Senior Manager 2011

"Without support from VAWD, we would be nowhere near where we are today. Although a cliché, it is true when we say it has been invaluable."

Ross Bennett, Engaging Education
