Our Vision
Voluntary Action Wakefield District provides, and will continue to develop,a 'wrap around' service for voluntary and community groups representing all sections of the community.
Direct services support groups from the point at which they decide to become a group and throughout the lifetime of their operation. Development needs of both individual groups and the sector as a whole will be identified and articulated to relevant agencies. Representational and liaison work will ensure that this takes place.
Voluntary Action Wakefield District plays a vital role in community development within the district at the point at which individuals decide to become groups. The organisation works with individuals who are part of a group or who wish to assist the development and work of voluntary and community groups, but does not provide services directly for individuals.
