About VAWD
Voluntary Action Wakefield District exists to ensure the development of a vibrant voluntary and community sector within the Wakefield Metropolitan District area.
We have five main areas of work:- Support - practical services to help you develop, manage and run your group.
- Development - stimulate and support new initiatives, projects and organisations.
- Liaison - develop and strengthen the relationship between voluntary and community groups and other sectors, agencies and institutions through networking, joint working and information.
- Strategic Partnership - take an active role in developing the sectors' participation in strategic work; raise the sectors' profile and promote good practice.
- Representation - represent the interests of the voluntary and community sectors, and enable individual and collective views and voices to be heard.
